Conceal Imperfections with Porcelain Veneers

Are you hesitant to smile because of crooked or uneven teeth? Do you suffer from chips or staining that does not respond to teeth whitening? At Larsen Family Dental, we offer a solution that can completely rejuvenate your smile in just two weeks. Porcelain veneers, thin shells which are made of medical-grade ceramic, are bonded to one or more teeth to conceal imperfections such as cracks, chips, intrinsic discoloration, and minor gaps. Dr. Paul C. Larsen utilizes a trusted laboratory to create the customized porcelain veneers available at our Bountiful, UT, practice.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

The natural-looking porcelain veneers placed at our practice have greatly enhanced many patients' quality of life. Veneers are a versatile cosmetic dentistry solution for those who want to conceal blemishes that detract from their smile. Patients who want to mask minor dental misalignment, worn-down or misshapen teeth, or intrinsic stains often make good candidates for the procedure.

Porcelain veneers can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as gum contouring, for a dramatic smile makeover.

Our porcelain veneers are meticulously designed to closely match your surrounding teeth. Because porcelain has a sheen and translucence that looks similar to dental enamel, people will only notice your even, beautiful smile. This cosmetic treatment can provide immediate results in just two office visits and easily be combined with other aesthetic procedures, such as gum contouring, for a dramatic smile makeover

The Veneers Procedure

When you come in for your initial consultation, Dr. Larsen can determine if you are eligible for porcelain veneers by evaluating your concerns and treatment goals. This treatment is suitable for patients who enjoy good oral health, meaning they do not suffer from decay or gum disease, but whose teeth have aesthetic imperfections.

Once you both decide veneers are right for you, Dr. Larsen will create your treatment plan and begin designing the restorations. At Larsen Family Dental, we can also make a wax mockup that allows you to preview what the results of your treatment will look like and make any slight adjustments necessary.

Placing the veneers requires at least two appointments. During the first visit, Dr. Larsen will prepare your teeth by removing a minimal amount of enamel, creating space to accommodate the veneers. Then he will take impressions of your teeth which the skilled ceramists at our lab will use to fabricate your veneers, ensuring that they seamlessly complement your smile.

Stubborn internal staining is just one of the cosmetic concerns that veneers can effectively mask.

Dr. Larsen will provide temporary restorations to wear while you wait for your veneers to be completed, a process which generally takes about two weeks. These temporary restorations will guard against sensitivity and also maintain your appearance. When your veneers are ready, you will return to our office to have them placed. Your dentist will lightly etch the surface of your teeth to create a strong bonding surface for the veneers. Next, Dr. Larsen will check the fit, make any necessary adjustments, and securely attach the veneers using a dental cement.
